BASF has undertaken a strategic review of the distribution models to be used for its Paper Chemicals business across Asia Pacific. As a consequence, BASF Australia Ltd will adopt a third party distribution model to service the Australian Paper chemicals market.

Effective from Wednesday 1 December 2010, all distribution operations previously conducted by BASF Australia Ltd will be managed by Chemiplas Australia Pty Limited.

Under the new arrangement, all BASF paper chemicals products currently marketed in Australia will continue to be available. All existing orders will be met in full, and both companies are working together on a transition plan. Chemiplas offers specialty chemicals for a wide range of applications through an established network across Australia and New Zealand. This includes a Pulp and Paper division, which has serviced the needs of the New Zealand industry for more than 30-years.
